Our client ROSA KARL opened a new salon in the 1st district in Vienna. In 2017, the business was passed from mother to daughter, who returned from Berlin to take over. Now in 2022 the new salon opened in the city center.
By the Donau canal the new location offers big windows referring to the south west. The existing window arches provide a beautiful play of light in the room throughout the day. The idea of the new location is to host exhibitions with events in addition to Hair and Beauty’s daily business. Founder Hanah Thorwartl has a close connection to art and music, which she brings together at this new location.
Three large mirrors are positioned at different angles in front of the windows. Each customer thus has a different visual axis into the room. At the same time, it gives the room some privacy from the busy street. The semi-transparent curtain enhances the feeling of a floating mirror and shades the space slightly. The hairdressing chair and cabinets for tools are mobile. The cabinets are made of OSIS surface DARK GREEN & MOUSE.
The waiting area is intended to serve both clients and friends of the salon. For the project,LLOT LLOV has developed two new FRAN lamps, which are now also part of the Raffia collection. FRAN DRUM & FRAN HIVE hang above the vintage Italian sofa, providing a cosy zone in addition to acoustic inhibition. The side tables are customized and made of washed concrete.
The kitchen is not hidden, but visible behind the counter. This way, you can still keep in touch with the customers while preparing coffee. While having a chat, the product shelf is in the line of sight – reflecting the product colours in high gloss.
In order to keep the background rooms in contrast to the main room, the kitchen and the colouring area of the salon are kept rather dark. The corner where the various hair colours are being mixed is kept completely dark blue. All cabinets are equipped with the OSIS surface MIDNIGHT.
Next to the washing area, the new product RANK is positioned on the wall. The modular climbing aid for plants can be assembled in different way.
