The COMPLETE Table is a bespoke commission for a private client and deliberately positions itself between functional furniture and autonomous object. Conceived as a one-off piece, it brings together material research, craftsmanship, and visual disruption. Executed entirely in the OSIS BURNED surface, the solid table attains a deep, almost archaic presence that subtly shifts with changing light conditions.
The tabletop is composed of five circular veneer panels whose forms appear to interlock. The marquetry explores variations in grain direction: this intentionally introduced divergence creates a layered visual interplay in which lines intersect and patterns run counter to one another. The effect is further intensified by the way each veneer surface reflects light differently, producing subtle chromatic shifts depending on the viewing angle. As a result, the table responds to movement within the space, continuously transforming its appearance.
A further moment of dissonance lies in the construction itself. The four legs are not concentrically aligned with the pattern of the tabletop, causing the table to appear unsymmetrical from certain perspectives and resisting a fixed, static reading. This tension between order and displacement is essential to the object’s character.
The entire piece is based on a complex marquetry crafted from aircraft-grade plywood—a material that LLOT LLOV now also offers as veneer with the OSIS surface. The COMPLETE Table thus marks not only a singular collectible, but also a reference point within the studio’s ongoing exploration of materiality and surface development.
