Mak Vase

The MAK Vase translates traditional rope techniques into a striking, sculptural vessel. Enveloped in a dense, tactile fringe of thick, dark threads, this bold outer shell reimagines conventional macramé to create a highly textured, grounded centerpiece. Beneath this voluminous textile exterior lies a functional core: a mouth-blown glass container designed to elegantly hold cut flowers or soil for live plants. The vase is the result of a dedicated social initiative based in Riga, Latvia. Produced in collaboration with a community of stay-at-home mothers, the intricate macramé covers are entirely crafted by hand. Every individual knot is meticulously finished, ensuring that each piece carries the distinct, personal signature of the artisan’s handiwork.
